Raghu, there is also an inherent *small* error in the inkjet duplexer units,
which can be measured by the user and maybe hpijs could be configured to
compensate for, by letting us add a fixed ammount of offset up/down in
either the front or the back page, whichever is easier.

E.g. my unit has an error of about +1 mm (back page starts 1mm futher down
than what it should to be perfectly in sync with the front page). I suppose
some other units might have an error of -1mm (back page starts 1mm up when
compared with the front page), etc.

HP even has a test pattern that makes it trivial to measure (i got a sheet
with it printed when I got my duplexer unit) the vertical offset, and to see
if there is any horizontal offset.

Could support for such corrections be added to hpijs? It does NOT need to be
a friendly thing at first with a calibration procedure or whatever, I'd be
fine with it being an advanced capability which is up to the user to deal
with for starters. Calibrating it would probably mean changing the default
value in the CUPS PPD, as it is not something inside the printer.
