Used the thread below to install the drivers for my HP PSC 1610.

http://www.linuxquestions.org/linux/answers/Applications_GUI_Multimedia/Configuring_HPLIP_for_Slackware_10_2

I can now print from Firefox, Gimp, Kword etc. I can also scan
(sometimes) using xsane or kooka.

When I plug a camera card into the HP PSC and run dmesg I recieve the
following output.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/etc$ dmesg | tail
ppdev1: claim the port first
ppdev2: claim the port first
ppdev3: claim the port first
ppdev0: registered pardevice
ppdev0: unregistered pardevice
ppdev1: claim the port first
ppdev2: claim the port first
ppdev3: claim the port first
spurious 8259A interrupt: IRQ7.
printer.c: usblp0: removed

Unless I'm mistaken the printer is being recognized as usb (correctly)
but later removed in favor of a parallel port device? If this, or
something similar is the case, I can understand why I cannot access the
card reader. If I am on target could someone suggest a way to straighten
this out? If I'm off base could someone point me in the right direction?

Thank you.

Matthew
