Manual. Exactly as per
http://hplip.sourceforge.net/install/manual/distros/fedora_core.html
but maybe I did make an error.

Originally my computer had the rpm version 1.7.2 installed. I forgot
to uninstall it and installed the tarball version on top of it. Then
when that did not work I installed following exactly the above
procedure.

Nowhere did I remove the previous install. How do I remove all the
previous files of these installs, so that I can start clean?

Also, how do I get the ppd file of the printer? to put into the ppd
directory of the rpm install, if thats all that is required, as my
hplip driver is higher than the minimum requirement of 0.95?

After that I will do a manual install again and revert.
