I share the same ideas as several of the previous posters. As someone who has definitely bootstrapped a podcast from HPR and it's, I think some amount of syndication is a valuable tool. More than a couple of the free culture podcasts out there have done the same thing to either get established or get some promotion.
As far as syndicating episodes of a another podcast, I also don't really mind it. I do think there should be at least some limit to the number of episodes over a period of time. In the past I think this has been handled well. If a podcast is wanting to post episodes more regularly than an established time limit we as a community could help them establish their own hosting and feed. For example, Urandom's and my podcasts site and feed cost less than $1 USD a month, and I'm sure we would be more than happy to help anyone set up the same situation. I think there is a way to support new podcasts being initially created using HPR and then using the community to help them become self-sufficient. As far as attributing and acknowledging HPR...while I think it is a nice gesture that is appreciated, I would not categorize it as necessary. Just my two cents.
