Yep it's a problem with object initializations in a shared library on a couple of 
platforms.  I have just completed an extensive number of changes to successfully 
compile, link, & and run the htdig-3-2-x branch in dynamic linking mode.  Mainly the 
changes were relevant to the global HtConfiguration object 'config' declared in 
defaults.{cc,h}.

I have to document my changes tonight and submit them.  But it works.  Solaris 2.6 
under Sparc C 4.2 actually.  Have to do another build under gcc to make sure 
everything is copasetic.
