as the Debian Developer responsible for ht://Dig I think it would be good to get a version of the 3.2.0-branch into Sarge (which is freezing right now, and might be released in fall)
For this reason, would it be possible to create a snapshot that can be considered more or less stable, but doesn't feature tons of debugging enabled (so indexing isn't as slow as posted in the last bug report I sent to this list)?
I could then package that version for inclusion into Sarge.
If this cannot be done, Sarge will probalby ship with htdig-3.1.7
