Greetings Robert,Hello Lachlan,
That was patched (fixed?) in December, just after 3.2.0b5 was released.

What I did was take the oficial 3.2.0b5 and package that (usual download from website).
I have now doubt that since then htdig has evloved quite a bit, but please understand that I am unvilling to package a CVS version unless its absolutely necessary.
As to the release Cycle, ht://Dig seems to evolve rather slowly, the team is committed to providing the best possible quality. What would help me most would be the ht://Dig team releasing a snapshot of development at least twice a year. I could then package this snapshot, and would be sure not to run into the usual problems enocountered with CVS. (Something running today may be broken tomorrow)
I am therefore waiting for the ht://Dig team to release something that can be considered at least as stable as the 3.2.0b5 (of december), and that could undergo some optimisations for speed.
Please understand that I am under pressure from the debian team. If Sarge is to be stable, the version included in sarge should be at least as usable as the version in woody now (3.1.6). If 3.2.0b5 (or a later release) cannot fullfill that, 3.1.6 will be included, with all its issues (I have heard of some amok running htdigs).
So that breiefly is my situation.
