Greetings all, If we are to phase out 3.1.x, then I think we need to be able to produce small, fast databases for those who don't need 3.2.x features, like phrase searching. I propose having a "store_phrases" configuration attribute (defaulting to true?). If that is false, only the first occurrence of each word in each document will be stored. This will result in a smaller database and faster searching. As a side benefit, it should also increase the speed of digging.
I don't want to "add a feature" at this point, but to me, the large time/storage requirements are more a bug than a missing feature. Thoughts?
