You should also check to make sure the root2word.db and word2root.db are
readable by anyone.  If htsearch can't read them, it can't do the endings
expansion.  Finally, make sure that htsearch isn't using a config file that
redefines common_dir, endings_root2word_db or endings_word2root_db to look
for these databases somewhere else.
