Yes, you need to run updates via cron if you want them done automatically
overnight. The simple way is to just run "rundig" from cron, which reindexes
everything from scratch. For incremental updates, rather than rebuilds,
you can simply run a script that calls "htdig" followed by "htmerge". For
large databases, where you want to run an incremental update while allowing
simultaneous searches, you will need a more sophisticated script to do this,
like the one at ftp://htdig.sourceforge.net/pub/htdig/contrib/scripts/rundig.sh
