Hi, thanks. Let me point out that I am pretty much of a novice here. But am trying. Before proceeding, I would need to know for certain what is meant by "verify that old ht://Dig database files are being replaced by new ones after you changed exclude URLs"? I suspect that you mean, did I run a re-index.... if that is what you mean, then, yes, I did so, but I receive the same multiplicity of files. However, if this is not what is meant by "verify," please be a bit clearer.
Anyhow, I am trying your second suggestion. First, I telnetted into the site. When I run rundig, I run it thusly: cd www cd rundig cd bin then perl rundig (that is the way I index it) and that works fine. So, from that sub-directory, I ran as follows (first, using the name of the file, second using just the path statement): server:/home2/mydomain/www/htdig/bin$ perl rundig -c /www/htdig/conf/htdig.conf htdig: Unable to find configuration file '/www/htdig/conf/htdig.conf' htmerge: Unable to find configuration file '/www/htdig/conf/htdig.conf' server:/home2/mydomain/www/htdig/bin$ perl rundig -c /www/htdig/conf htdig: Unable to find configuration file '/www/htdig/conf' htmerge: Unable to find configuration file '/www/htdig/conf' Does this assist you? The file htdig.conf is found on my system at /www/htdig/conf/htdig.conf, by the way. Please help.
