As far as I can see (AFAICS), xpdf (the PDF converter used by your htdig installation),
is not capable of interpreting PDF's created as version 1.5, only up to version 1.4.
The is not the Acrobat reader or writer, but the PDF specification version. You'll have
to wait until xpdf support version 1.5 also.
