In order to test the substring attribute, I put the line search_algorithm: substring:.5
in an htdig.conf file called "htdig-substring.conf" and then called htsearch with a line including name="config" value="htdig-substring" As with the htdig.conf file without the above line, the search matched whole words but not parts of words. Did I specify something wrong? TIA.
