I'm a little confused...
Is it the parse_doc.pl script that is used, or the doc2html.pl script?
I've always used parse_doc.pl...
does it actually make a difference?

The "External parser error:..." message is not a doc2html message.
Check your configuration file for errors.
Check that you can execute doc2html.pl from the command line.
Act on those FAQs.

if I run htdig -ivvv I get this message many times;
"External parser error: unknown field in line "1", "test", "hello"...."
the pathes in htdig.conf and doc2html.pl are ok!
But what ist wrong hier???

Could you have "test" in your list of bad words?
Have you consulted the FAQ at http://htdig.org? See FAQs 4.8, 5.37 &
5.39.

I use for parsing my Excel files the xlhtml-0.5 parser!
If I set start_url to test.xls (with "test test" many times as
content)
and
run rundig -ivvv, I get output, that test.xls was parsed. But if I
get
"test" in the search form I get message "Nothing found"!
What is wrong hier?
