Hi,
thanks for the clarifications.

Ok, having little time and also being pretty lousy with C (and C++ is
mostly new ground for me), I won't be able to become a main developer.
Sorry about that*.
:-|
I wrote a small search engine using perl. It is being used on small web
sites of several clients of the German web agency that I mostly work for.
The reason I joined this mailing list is that I am not very happy with my
own creation. My small search engine works, but it isn't exactly
sophisticated software engineering - it is very slow, has few features,
uses a very simple indexing algorithm and it literally blows up if you
confront it with a medium sized web site.
That's why, after more than a year, I had a second look at ht://dig and
found it be *far* superiour - lightyears ahead, no chance to catch up for
me. (And with the GPL, no reason for me to try.)
I'd like to contribute a few _very small_ ideas that I found useful in my
own application (and will try to implement most of them myself).
These are mostly details in the search result output and a few META-Tags. I
am currently reading the CVS source tree, to avoid making a fool of myself
by suggesting things that are already under way.
Greetings,
Hanno
(* Last time I joined an open source developer mailing list, I made a
full-mouthed, very big feature suggestion and suddenly was made a main
developer and responsible implementing it. That's why I am a bit more
careful with my words this time...)
