I just sent a mail to Francois Pinard (author of recode-3.5) to ask for
advice. Apparently no library agree on the internal charset. glibc uses
wchar, libunicode uses an unsigned int, perl uses UTF-8. *sigh*. I wish
there was a talented programmer saying 'work hard, promote a standard lib
and promote it now' :-)
