There's a race condition bug fixes.  See the following for details.

The DB interface has not changed.  There is no "additional support"
required with this release.  At some point, decoupling will be
strongly demanded.  Your suggestion may be fine for most developers
at some time but, will need to occur because it is a bad policy.

I use DB in other applications and want to have one version
installed.  When I decide to compile a shared DB library, I expect
to have an easy path with which to link with htdig.

When prebuilt binary distributions are built, your recommended
policy may be highly preferred.  Do this when building and packaging
for distribution but don't force this policy into the main CVS tree.
