So I made the htdig-3-2-x branch last night.
For those who haven't had much experience with switching between
branches on a CVS copy, to follow the release tree, do the following:
cvs up -r htdig-3-2-x
I'm still waiting for some code promised before the freeze. Vadim and
I have had some problems merging in our respective code with all the
recent changes. I'm also going to merge in the date search feature
tonight.
I would love to see code for duplicate elimination and/or adding
portions of URLs as words. The latter is pretty easy, but not
particularly necessary. The former is IMHO critical for testing
purposes and if I don't hear back from the people who promised it,
I'm going to write it myself and submit it for approval.
I'll run through my general policy at this point. The point of the
freeze is that we really should get this release out soon and the
tree is in serious need of stability. On the other hand, small
"features" like the max_keywords proposed by Joe Jah aren't likely to
cause stability problems.
To make it fair, anything that isn't a bug fix, a performance
improvement, or along those lines *must* go for a vote on-list. Votes
last for 24hrs or 48hrs over the weekend, with majority rule winning
out.
Hopefully we can get a 3.2.0b1 out in solid shape and get some feedback.
