hi folks,

sorry bothering u with stupid questions, but I need a little help
and there are no answers in the faq for my problem.

I tried to compile htdig, but it was not possible.
we have Linux SuSe 6.2, Kernel 2.2.10, libstdc++ is installed,
an the gcc compiler ist installed too.

I always get an error running ./configure:

# ./configure

and in the log it says:

configure:1114: checking whether the C++ compiler (gcc ) works
configure:1130: gcc -o conftest conftest.C 1>&5
gcc: installation problem, cannot exec `cc1plus': No such file or
directory

I compiled apache, proftpd and other programs with this compiler and it
worked.
here it seems the cc1plus is the only one problem, because I commented it
out and
the configure ran till to end.

so can you please help me what to do in this case?

I would be glad if you have an answer for me.

thnx in advance...

bernd

b.t.w.: I tried to install a new gcc and downloaded it from the GNU.org,
but I'm sorry, I dont know how to do this, there are only three
directories,
and no helpful readme files.
