No - the directory is empty.  As for permissions, I took care of that
possibility by performing a "chmod -R 777".  And it still seg-faults.
Just FYI, what's left is:

-rw-r--r--   1 root     root            0 Apr 12 12:26 db.docs.index

(an empty file)

Just FYI, never had any problems like this with previous releases
and have been using Slackware the whole time.  Maybe time to try a
different distribution in my testing ;-)
