Any more detailed information would be appreciated, too ;-)
It is always difficult to anwser a question to a problem description
without having some infomation about the setup.
However, from what you're telling, I assume that your start_urls
directive in your config file is wrong. Maybe it is too long for
the config parser and you should split it into multiple lines, or
you have multiple lines and they are not connected with a backslash
at the end of each line (except the last)?
Some output from htdig running in verbose mode would surely give
a clue about the cause of your problem.
