It was reported that the older patch:
ftp://ftp.ccsf.org/htdig-patches/3.1.5/0ld/ssl.0
applies to a "clean htdig-3.1.5" with the -l switch:
cd /path/to/htdig-3.1.5/
patch -p1 -l < /path/to/ssl.0
