Especially since 1.6 is out, and the work on 1.7 has began,
[X] +1 I am in favor of using Java 1.5 and taking advantage
of its new features
Also, while adding NIO, please, beware of this NIO bug that I've
reported to Sun, which has still not been fixed. The problem is with
all released NIO versions, AFAIK. I've spent almost a week total
hunting it down and developing workarounds.
