Hi all, The status on the show stoppers is unchanged. I have not made any additional interim beta release and the next ten days I am traveling. If anybody wants to run with it and do a beta4 release, the documentation [0] of the process is 90%+ complete and I can support them / answer arising questions here on the ML (give me +/-48 hours).
If the show stoppers stay open, we'll have to consider finalizing the current cycle as-is; release with a "known issues" section in the release notes; move on to the next cycle. The python scripting branch awaits integration. IMHO even with the current show stoppers Hugin 2011.0 is far better than 2010.4 for the majority of users. And since the whole history of releases is available for download on SourceForce, nothing prevents users to fall back on earlier version if 2011.0 does not work for them.
