Well, if one just wants to make a few changes to the prefs, yet another way to do it is by holding down the <control> or the <command> key while Hugs is starting, in which case one gets a dialog box allowing you to enter a startup line, just like in a UNIX shell. Using this dialog box, one can also defer the console in/output to files. Hans Aberg
