I noticed this article indicates September. Maybe their noise might be coinciding with the Particle Collider Experiments being done of the Large Hadron Collider of CERN's. Maybe the LHC particle collider going on line for experimenting and testing in September might of induced a higher sensitivity to the noise in the air, possibly mixed with noise from underground.
