Very interesting this - the reason for shutting down the airspace over
most of Europe. It now appears, as I first suspected that it wasn't
necessary at all as there was no, or very little of this volcanic dust
in the atmosphere. We were promised spectacular sun rises and sunsets
from the dust in the troposphere, but of course we didn't get them cos
there was no dust to make them. A very good artical in the Mail on
Sunday 25/04/10 today confirms this. However weren't the crystal clear
deep blue skies spectacular? No haze creating dispersing vapour trails
to make the sky pale and insipid, and no CT ing either. Skies as
nature intends them to be, and as I remember them as a kid. I too
thought that The Hum might disappear with no air traffic, but it's
been as consistent as ever. MMMmmmMMMMMmmmmmMMMm on and on it goes.
Sometimes on or off or just about there, or full on 11 on the Hum
meddler's knob scale. As I write here in central London, it's off, or
just about on, or as to be so low as to not be noticeable, but I know
it's there. I was on the other side of the world a few weeks back, in
the back of beyond, and yes, there it was....................
