The main cause of “Hum” occurrences in the last 4-5 years is BPL (Broadband over Power Lines). If you’re new to Hum (and I hope you’re not – Think about that one) you’re probably listening to a diesel engine, totally lost, hurting, confused, and concerned that you are losing your mind – You’re not.
Nobody else hears it, right? You’re on your own, right? You’ve got Tinnitus, right? You've got some unexplainable "eebie-jeebie" feelings that won't go away, right? WRONG! The bottom line is this: Electricity utility companies are attempting to rip you off further by becoming, firstly, your un-favorite Internet Service Provider (ISP) and, secondly, making you go out and buy new appliances that you don’t need. This is after you have paid the equivalent of 1300 US dollars or British quid for a dumb “Smart Meter” in your home to replace whatever is there right now. Problem is, "they" can't keep their ISP signals in the unshielded bare metal cables - It's leaking and you're hearing it - dBC range - Look it up if you like, it's real noise. This entire effort is so that your banks can get fat again and their execs their bonuses back. This is all while you’re suffering with an unstoppable, never-ending, buzzing, humming, tweetering noise that drives you crazy 24/7 and for some of us, hits us in the gut and causes acute pain. What to do? Well, sorry to have to tell you this; but it ain’t going to stop overnight – This “thing” is big, as in global. Complain, but complain effectively and to the right people. Your electrical utility and your local political representative for starters. Respond to this post and I’ll send you instructions on how to get a Spectrum Scanning software program (easy, easy to use) and print the scans that show and PROVE your problem is a reality. I'll give you a few tips on how to lessen this noise's effects while we're on. (i.e. If you don't TELL anyone you've got a problem, who's going to help you?) Then you threaten “them” with the law. Oh yeah, it’s illegal to do this to you. It’s illegal to distort the spectrum as “they” are doing. While you’re doing that you claim compensation - $10million is the going rate. Don’t let “them” get away with this crap. Complain; and get the proof to back up your complaint.
