Hi John:  Just going thru the emails.  While I didn't move in an attempt to
resolve this incessant buzzing, it did help it somewhat.  Where I was in
Maryland, there was a lot of air pollution even though I was practically on the
Chesapeake Bay.  The Bay was like a block from the house we were renting at the
time.  It was a wood frame house, one story with a typical pointed roof.  The
house didn't have a basement.  It had a crawl space.  There was no typical high
ground spots in Kent County as it was pretty much at sea level.  It was a very
small town that is 70 miles in either direction from any large city.  When I
checked into the geology of the area, I found that the bedrock consisted of
limestone and quartz.

When I moved to Florida, the complex I'm in only goes two stories high and the
roofs are generally flat down here as a rule due to the hurricanes.  That is
also why you don't see many high rises in Florida either.  This complex is a
combination of brick, stone and wood.  The house in Rock Hall MD was rather
isolated.  I have not checked into the geology of Daytona Beach as yet.  It
will be interesting to dig into that and see if there is a correlation with the
geology of certain areas if it makes the hum worse or eases it.

Sue

Dear Susan,
It seems you have enough problems without having to cope with this accursed
Hum.
Some time ago I attempted to complete a survey of sufferers who had found a
difference by moving home. This was an attempt to find a solution to this
problem and I would be grateful if you would help with a few details.
For example, were the properties of similar construction, brick, stone or wood,
were the buildings tall and did they have a flat or pointed roof,
Were they isolates or in a city center and were they located on high ground or
a hill top.
Best Regards
John

Interesting hypothesis there John.  Strange that you mention this as my hum is
practically non-existent today.  I have found that different stress levels
intensifies it.  If I'm fairly level like today I don't hear it much.  This
idiotic hum is one of the reasons I don't get great rest.  I have literally
been woken up in the middle of the night with the hum so loud I couldn't sleep.
I moved to Florida last year after I lost my Dad and my hubby.  I haven't
heard the hum as loud down here as I did in Maryland.  Don't know if location
has anything to do with it.
