I have been noticing a correlation in the geology of the areas of the worst of
the hum sufferers.  Quartz is in a lot of the bedrock across the country and,
quartz is what is used in basic electronics.  It would compute that high EMF
would have an effect on us sufferers.  I've had an EMF meter for years to
monitor that before it became a paranormal investigative tool.  If I was near a
power supply that had a high EMF reading I noticed the hum/buzzing/crackling
was louder.

Its really strange how it does.  Some days its a low level hum.  Other days its
the incessant buzzing.  Crackling I get if I'm highly stressed.  I use a
grounding and centering technique when the crackling phase hits because that
begins to make me nauseous.  For me, stormy weather has the opposite effect.
The buzzing is louder with storms.  I did find one way to combat the buzzing
when it gets truly annoying, I've turned into a fan of metal music .  If I'm
able, I'll put on some Metallica, Motorhead et. al. and that masks it rather
well.

Have a Wonderful Day!

Dear Sue

Thank you very much for the information. With others I have made many
observations of the Hum in various types of buildings. One most interesting
case was that of an old stone built church with a high pointed lead covered
roof. On the same ground just a few yards away was a modern single level flat
roof building used as a canteen. On the same day at the same time the Hum level
inside the church was observed to be horrendous outside it fell to a very low
level and inside the canteen building it was the same as outside. I always use
a good pair of ear protectors while making such observations as this reduces
extraneous sound waves and allows one to concentrate on the Hum proper.

Hi John:  Just going thru the emails.  While I didn't move in an attempt to
resolve this incessant buzzing, it did help it somewhat.  Where I was in
Maryland, there was a lot of air pollution even though I was practically on the
Chesapeake Bay.  The Bay was like a block from the house we were renting at the
time.  It was a wood frame house, one story with a typical pointed roof.  The
house didn't have a basement.  It had a crawl space.  There was no typical high
ground spots in Kent County as it was pretty much at sea level.  It was a very
small town that is 70 miles in either direction from any large city.  When I
checked into the geology of the area, I found that the bedrock consisted of
limestone and quartz.
