long since over the great sounding sample files but I have yet to get any
useful work out of this box. Anyone care to tackle these issues ?

a. How do you import midi files ? Since Yamaha touts this as a 'sequence
remixer' shouldnt this be fairly easy to do ? I either get a "Ilegal format"
error or the resulting sound is chaos. Its nearly impossible to tell what is
being played from my 'known good' file and the muck that I hear. The manual
and 'oh so glossy' literature would have you believe its a snap. So far no
luck.

b. how do you determine the connection between sounds as printed in the
"listbook" and the codes presented in the voice/phrase breakdown ( a screen
achieved by hitting the pattern button 2x).

c. what is the basic unit of sound here ? Is it a single percussive attack of
the instrument itself or some pattern of percussive hits ?

d. is there an easy way to go thru each individual sound and hear it clearly
? I dont want to hear any of these sounds run thru any pattern or rhythmic
figure - just want to touch a key and hear what it sounds like . . .

e. is there a way to impose ADSR on these individual sounds such that they
remain as Ive set them ? It would be alot more useful to mold these basic
sounds and have them stay that way . . .I notice some of the percussive hits
end too soon, too soon for my tastes anyway . . .

Thanks in advance !
