Velocity

When recording a drum track (let's say a bass drum), how do I turn off
velocity?  Every time I strike a note to make the bass drum I don't alway
press the key with the same hardness, so it sometimes sounds like the drum
is more faint than others.  Is this a setting on my Nord Lead 2 synth or the
RM1x sequencer that's doing the recording?
