A tracker.. well.. instead of displaying the musical data as music, with
notes, and all that confusing stuff, it displays it as numbers. A good
example is:
(make sure your using a fixed width font for this:
L track 1 track 2 track 3
000 A#1 010000 --- ------ C-1 020505
001 -|- 000000 --- ------ -|- 020506
002 -|- 000000 --- ------ -|- 020507
003 -|- 000000 --- ------ -|- 020508
004 -|- 000000 --- ------ -|- 020509
005 -|- 000000 --- ------ -|- 020510
006 --- ------ --- ------ -|- 020521
007 --- ------ --- ------ -|- 020532
Ok, the L is the line. Usually every 16 lines is a quarter note, or every
8, It depends on the "tics per line" set in teh tracker.
Obviosuly A#1 is A#, in the first octave. C-1 is C, in teh first octave.
duh.
the -|- means that the last note played is behind held for that note.
the numbers after the note are where the real power comes in. The first 2
are the instrument that the note should use. The middle 2 are the command,
and the last 2 are the command value. In our faux tracker example, the
command 05 might be pitchbend so on track 3, theres a slow slide upwards.
In fact. A tracker is alot like using edit mode of the rm1x, except EVERY
timing value is shown.
