HOW I DO IT!!
Copy Pattern - Section a - to section b.
Go to the patch screen where you can see what phrases are on what tracks
(Press patt once from the main screen).
Highlight the track where your original kick phrase is. Wind to first knob
hard left to clear the phrase from the track. Hit record and the RM
instantly prepares a fresh unused phrase for you to record into... This
keeps your original phrase intact, therefore you are in effect recording a
new phrase on track one as opposed to using or needing to copy the old one.
I have never used split - pattern copy works for me...
