RM1X Midi input

Hi everyone - I'm sorry to ask so many questions, I'm finding the transition to the rm1x a bit more difficult than I had thought but anyhow, it's still a really cool machine.   Is there any way to route the midi input to the midi output?  Like, can I put a midi controller keyboard into the midi in and have it control external devices through the rm1x?  Because it seems to just go to the rm1x internal sound engine at the moment.   Another question I have that I'd love to have answered is regarding recording.  Is there any way to set up MIDI recording so that the recording will start once a note is received, and just sit on standby until then?    Thanks for all your help so far, and hopefully for help on these issues.
