Ok, I am planning to get either a LOOX 720 or a hx4700. Right now I
am torn because the 720 has a camera (not a biggie, as my phone has
one anyway), and a usb host port (I REALLY want that). However the
720's linux development is in its infancy (like, w00t it boots!
infancy). So... What would it take to get a usb host port going on
the hx4700?

I know there is a usb host on the board, but I have a feeling that it
is going to be all but impossible to tap into it, and I would rather
not open the thing up (for some reason small stuff like this has a
tendency to not work after I have seen inside). SO I was wondering
about the chances of using this thing

Wich is sorta expensive it $100+ but...

It seems to be working for the zaurus here...

So I would say that software is covered... But then it needs to be in
the cf slot, which means that I can't boot off cf... I assume there
isn't any chance of using the SD slot to boot off of? I suppose that
if things are nice and stable I can ditch windows all together and
reflash the thing, if that it what it takes to get a usb host working.
Also, would opie know to automount drives and recognise HID's without
too much fiddling? It would be too sweet if you could just drop in
the card, install the package, and plug in a mouse/keyboard/hard
drive/whatever...

So, what are your guy's comments?

Also, do the wifi/bluetooth seems stable? Can we configure them
through the opie interface? And is the whole mess stable enough to be
used as a every day PDA?

Thanks!
