I agree sebastian in this instance. At the moment I use "kdevelop" with the old 
makefile
buildsystem and its work well known. Today I test scons together with kdevelop. 
Sometimes
I get a rebuild too, but only sometimes.

Anyway I think, that it is possible, to work productive together with scons and 
kdevelop.
