As part of the 0.9.8.1 release, we *maven*-ized the Java build and have made it much easier to add Hadoop distributions. Hypertable will now run on top of the following distributions: Table 1. Hadoop Distribution Tags*Tag**Distribution*apache2Apache Hadoop 2 cdh3Cloudera CDH3cdh4Cloudera CDH4ibmbi3IBM BigInsights 3hdp2Hortonworks Data Platform 2
To configure Hypertable for a particular distribution, set the default_distro variable at the top of your Capfile to the tag for the desired distribution shown in the above table. For example to specify Hortonworks Data Platform 2, you would set the variable as follows: set :default_distro, "hdp2" Then push the change out with: cap set_distro The Hypertable Hadoop Installation Guide <http://hypertable.com/documentation/installation/quick_start_cluster_installation> has been updated with this information as well.
