Included in Hypertable 0.9.8.1 is an updated Hive connector that offers the following new capabilities:
- Updated to work with the latest version of Hive (0.13.0 or greater) - Ability to create and drop tables externally backed by Hypertable via the Hive command interpreter - Support for binary column format We have tested the new Hive connector on the following Hadoop distributions: - Cloudera CDH4 with Hive 0.13.1 - Hortonworks HDP2.1 with Hive 0.13.0 It should work with any Hadoop 2 based distribution and Hive 0.13.0 or later.
