Dear Friend, It is important in life that we are kind and compassionate towards others because we might never know of the sufferings that they are going through in secret. We are to love others with the love of the Lord and esteem them higher than we esteem ourselves. It is easy for anyone to be selfish and self involved and not care about the problems of others, but the Bible tells us to bear one another's burdens. We read in Galatians 6:2, Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. We are to be Christ minded and do unto others as we would have them do unto us. Be encouraged and know that your kindness will not go unseen because the Lord who sees all things will return to you the blessings that you brought to those who were in need. (Philippians 2:3) (Luke 6:30-36) (Matthew 25:33-40) I hope you are challenged and inspired by today's message. WHEN SUFFERING VISITS One of England's most famous physicians was Dr. William Osler. Many stories are told of Dr. Osler, but one of the most revealing comes from World War I. Friends recalled the day when he was working in one of Britain's military hospitals during the war. He was called out of the wards during his daily rounds to be given an important message; his own son had been killed on the fields of France. Stunned by the news, he still came back to pick up his rounds. For a long period afterward he was noticeably different. And those who knew him best said that he changed as a physician that day. The cheerful note was gone from his voice and never again did friends hear the tune which he so often whistled as he went from ward to ward. Though these things never returned, something eventually came to take their place. Everyone noticed a new compassion in his care of the soldiers who each day streamed in from the battlefield. Before, he had the professional concern of the physician, so important to the practice of medicine; now there was an added discernable note of a personal compassion, like that of a father for his son Osler was understandably hurt and, like most people who have experienced such losses, he likely became angry. In time, after working through pain and anger, he found a way to integrate the loss into his life. Though he was never the same, he chose not to let his son's death turn him into a bitter and resentful man. Instead, he channeled it into positive energy and love for others, caring for them as he would care for his own. Helen Keller wisely said, The struggle of life is one of our greatest blessings. It makes us patient, sensitive, and Godlike. It teaches us that although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it. Osler teaches us something about overcoming suffering. It can leave us bitter, or quite surprisingly, it can often leave us better. More patient. More sensitive. More compassionate. And a little more like how God must surely be. By Steve Goodier Read and meditate on these scriptures: John 15:11-13 Jesus says These things have I spoken unto you, that My Joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is My commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Psalm 37:23-27 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with His hand. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread. He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed. Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore. Matthew 7:12-14 Jesus says Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 5:16 Jesus says Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Dear Friend,
o)----------------------[ Hapus dan Edit Pesan yang tidak perlu ]----------------------(oWhat a great privilege it is for the believer to know the Lord intimately. God promises to those who belong to Him that He would lead them and protect them all the days of their life. When we don't know what step to take next, all we have to do is come before the Lord and ask for guidance and direction. He is our strong tower and a very present help in trouble. The Bible declares in Psalm 46:1-2 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea. Be encouraged and know that God is ready to direct and lead you on to the best path as He sees fit and all you have to do is simply ask for His intervention. (John 4:23-24) (Psalm 91:14-15) (Jeremiah 29:12-14) I hope you are encouraged by today's message to seek the Lord in all your ways and allow Him to guide and direct you all the days of your life. I CAN MAKE IT FROM THERE The story is told of the little boy that had wandered away from his home, not paying attention to where he had wondered to as he followed his dog until he noticed that his surroundings were no longer familiar to him. His eyes welled up with tears, his little heart filled with fright. Directly, his emotions were no longer controllable. He stood on the corner, sobbing uncontrollably. Soon, a police officer noticed the young boy crying. He approached the little fellow. What is the matter, son? Through his tears and sobbing, the little boy said, I'm lost! I had followed my dog away from home and now I'm lost! and sobbed all the more. The police officer knelt down beside the little one and gently said, Son, not to worry. I'll help you get home. The little boy took a step backward. The police officer gently said, I'll not hurt you. My job is to see to it that you get safely home. Please let me help. After a second or two, the little fellow took the officer by the hand. Now, where do you live? What is the name of the street? the officer asked. The little one looked around and said, I can't remember the name of my street. His fear began to return. O.K. the police officer said. What is your telephone number? We can call your Mom or Dad and they can come get you. We don't have a telephone in our house. Well, then, can you give me a landmark of some kind? Yes, the little one said and brightened up. Not too far from our house is a church with a high steeple with a cross on top of it. Do you know where that steeple might be? Yes, I do, son. Well, then, please take me to the foot of that cross and I can make if from there! Author Unknown We are to always remember that God is a loving Father who is plenteous in mercy and everlasting in strength. He is the guider and director of every believer and when we lose our way as we sometimes do, He whispers in our hearts, Do not fear for I am with you. Rest in His goodness and know that at the foot of His Cross All things are made new. The Lord is our redeemer and sustainer and All who come to Him are safe. The Bible declares in Proverbs 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. Believe God's Word and know that He is trustworthy. (Psalm 86:4-7) (Proverbs 3:5-6) (2 Corinthians 5:17-18) Read and meditate on these scriptures: Psalm 27:1-2 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Psalm 61:1-4 Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto Thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For Thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of Thy wings. Selah. Psalm 86:4-7 Rejoice the soul of Thy servant: for unto Thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. For Thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon Thee. Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications. In the day of my trouble I will call upon Thee: for Thou wilt answer me. Psalm 62:5-8 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation: He is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us. All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
