Apa pemetaan Hydraulic flow unit yang dimaksud seperti kita memetakan mikro timeline untuk suatu sub-subfacies (katakan lah kita bermain di dunia HC, suatu sand body dari beberapa sumur yang kita inginkan tebalnya 10-20ft, kita korelasi secara e-log, fisik, tentunya akan lebih baik bila dibantu data pressure, kemudian dipetakan dan didapat peta "Hydraulic flow unit map of X Oil sand". Terus applikasinya, kita test zona tsb satu persatu oilnyadari X sand (data tes valid), ternyata hasil oil yang kita dapat seperti yang diharapkan. Kemudian timbul pertanyaan, apa korelasinya ?, apa ada hydrolic discontinuity?. Menurut saya cara seperti akan sangat cocok dilakukan oleh Production Geo & Petroleum Engineer, karena ada validasi. Kalau hanya sekedar map yang warna-warni tanpa validasi, Petroleum Engineer nya jadi ngak kurang Pede memakai map Geologist.

orang2 core (Corelab, Lemigas dll) biasanya sudah punya workflow untuk melakukan hydraulic flow unit study, yang secara umum meliputi: deskripsi geologi (umumnya core)&petrography untuk mendapatkan model diagenetik dan lingkungan geologi. Kemudian menentukan reservoir quality index (simplenya fungsi poro-perm, banyak model/asumsi) lalu studi heterogeneitas batuan pada level pori-pori batuan termasuk studi akustik dan elektrikal batuan maka didapat model flow unit. Geologis biasanya concern terhadap transformasi dan establishment model ini dengan real geology (core level maupun field/regional level).

detailnya banyak koq di literatur/study (flow unit concepts top2nya tahun 80-90an hampir sejaman dengan sequence stratigraphy)

Key Definitions
Due to various working definitions of some of these terms in the literature,

Rock Types
Rock/Pore Types - are units of rock deposited under similar conditions which

Winland Plot(2,3) - a semi-log crossplot of permeability (mD) versus
porosity (%), with isopore throat lines (R35 Ports).
R35 Ports correspond to the calculated pore throat radius (microns) at 35%
mercury saturation from a mercury injection capillary pressure test. They
can be calculated directly from Winland's equation (eq.1) or other equations
based on permeability and porosity(4,5). In equation 1, permeability is
input in millidarcies and porosity in percent.
Log R35 = .732 + .588 * log (K) - .864 * log (PHI)......(1)
Flow Units
Flow Unit - is a stratigraphically continuous interval of similar reservoir
process speed that honors the geologic framework and maintains
characteristics of rock types(6)
K/PHI Ratio on a foot-by-foot basis is a relative measure of reservoir
process speed(7) (RPS) and is a simplified form of diffusivity, ignoring
viscosity and total compressibility.
Storage Capacity - the product of porosity and thickness.
Flow capacity - the product of permeability and thickness.
Flow Unit Speed - (FUS) percent flow capacity divided by percent storage
capacity.

mau share..bisa dua2nya, nyebrang atau dalam satu geological unit. Biasanya dlm korelasi, hirarki dan resolusi hydraulic flow unit sepadan dengan facies (atau malah subfacies), lebih detail dari sekedar depositional environment apalagi depositional system yang 'coarser' (biasanya setara system tracts yg dibatasi FS atau SB)..dan ini biasanya berlaku bagus untuk clastics lha kalo karbonat banyak kasus suka2 artinya flow unit tak sama dgn geological unit

unit harus terletak didalam satu geological unit (katakanlah sand yang
