Bagaimana dengan daya serap tenaga kerjanya, apakah geosaintist Indonesia dapat berperan disana ? Mas Taufik yg pengalaman di belahan dunia yang ini mungkin punya informasi utk orang Indonesianya. Memang benar eksplorasi di indonesia belum membuatkan kebanggaan yg signifikan, kalau belajar dari pengalaman masa lalu terlihat perlu waktu hingga 10-30 tahun untuk mendapatkan penemuan lapangan baru. Ini tidak hanya migas, hal yg sama utk pertambangan. Sempat ngobrol dengan mas Sumardiman, bahwa dalam mining perlu 3 hingga 5 kali siklus eksplorasi hingga muncul penemuan lapangan tambang yg baru. Satu siklus 5 tahun. Satu kali rata-2 daya tahan perusahaan utk melakukan eksplorasi. Jadi perlu waktu sekitar 30 tahun. Kalau di migas eksplorasi melorot sejak tahun 2000, maka kita mungkin akan mendapatkan signifikan discovery tahun 2030, insyaallah. Tehnologi. Semangat serta kebersamaan saya yakin dapat mengakselerasi proses penemuan ini. Saya yakin kedepan kita bisa.

Negara-negara yg dulu tak pernah terdengar menghasilkan minyak kini discovery oil field. Sebut saja seperti congo, mozambique, pantai gading, menyusul nanti somalia (kalau sudah aman), ethiopia. Lepas pantai Angola saja begitu ramai aktifitas explorasi, tak tanggung-tanggung menarik korelasinya..kalau petrobras di brazil sana discovery..maka sebagai pisahan benua di belahahan Afrika juga kemungkinan ada..lebih kurang 6000km korelasinya :)) Sementara di Indonesia hasil explorasi sangat menyedihkan.
