Wassalam, Budi Setiadi Daryono Dear Colleagues, We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 10th international symposium TIMING OF FIELD PRODUCTION IN VEGETABLE CROPS, to be held in Bonn, Germany from March 13 until March 17, 2005. With increasing demand of fresh vegetable produce in the market (domestic as well as international) , factors affecting preservance of quality, safety assurance and cost benefit ratio along the entire horticultural production and supply chain are of prime importance. As the chains are becoming more and more consumer driven, question arises, wether the early phases of vegetable production under field conditions have an impact on the final quality of end product or not. Various early phases in production / supply chain of field grown vegetables can be grouped broadly under breeding, seed technology, plant propagation and transplanting. The ISHS Symposium on gTiming of Field Production in Vegetable Cropsh aims at highlighting the most recent and exciting developments in these areas. Contributions are welcome with emphasis on the impact of early production practices on economically important and practically valued vegetable produce in terms of safety and quality.
