Korean Society of Sericultural Science is hosting the congress, in collaboration with Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Rural Development Administration (RDA), Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies, and Korea Sericultural Association. The congress aims to provide an international forum to facilitate discussions and information exchanges on cultural traditions, support policy, development strategies, and technology of sericulture. The APSERI 2006 is open to all those involved and interested in cocoon, silk production, and industrially beneficial insects. Participants would come from around the globe and be sericulturists, agricultural and industrial producers of cocoon and silk, administrators, entrepreneurs, traders, and scientists and technicians. Country reports will be presented on historical review, current status and future prospects for development and promotion of silk industries. In addition, the science papers would be on the field of traditional silk production and biotechnology of other beneficial insects as well. Registration and programs are on appendix and the consecutive announcements would be additionally announced for the concrete schedule of APSERI 2006.
