Hello Bruce, the CHPID is dedicated to one lpar, so that the lpar number on windows is 0. I have stopped the old os390 and then started zos with the same mpc and ip-device configuration as os390 in the same lpar. The windows side is completely unchanged. In our try-and-error-procedure have also stopped and restarted both sides, zos and windows, but always the ip-device in zos hangs with status STARTING. What I haven't done, is to view on the event log in windows. If we stop windows then the normal messages appear on zos console, that no one is living at the other side. What do you think should be started first, windows or zos? With os390 it is not relevant who is started first. The mpc connection becomes always ready. What level/release of software are you using on both sides (windows, mpc driver, zos)?
