Thanks for all the input suggestions that you've all provided. When I presented the idea to my co-worker, he very graciously said to me, why not keep it simple? I'll start VTAM and TCPIP and once both are up, we'll tell the Operator to enter the command S IVPRDR,M=STARTUP.
