UNIX has long had the admirable practice of generating the online
and hardcopy documentation from the same source. z/OS Unix has
followed this practice: the man(1) pages and the Commands manual
are generated (the former dynamically) from Bookmaster source.
It works well enough save for a few dangling references in the
man pages.

SDSF could have done similarly.

(z/OS Unix lacks the "catman -w" and "makewhatis" commands present
in many other flavors of UNIX to extract the equivalent of the TSO
HELP COMMANDS member.)

(How much hardcopy doc have you in your office nowadays?)
