Turns out all I had to do was customize the STC and start it. I could then use an OPS rule with OPSCAWTO to send an SNMP message to my Linux desktop. Of course, it turns out this is not what was really wanted. Currently we generate CA-Unicenter tickets automatically. CA-7 interfaces to CAICCI which talks to some other CA product which we are replacing with a less expensive product. Or something like that. So now I get to see if CA-7 can use that interface to send a "job abended" type message to this other product. And I've never looked at any of this stuff in the past. But it is a hurry up project to save money. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: GET IBM-MAIN INFO Search the archives at http://bama.ua.edu/archives/ibm-main.html
