Ma'am,

Regardless of OPERATOR PROMPT/NOPROMPT setting, default 
STPMODE is YES so he will get the IEA888A.

Why not T CLOCK ... maybe because his time zone is UTC ??
or he's setting a time outside of the twelve hour GMT 
window ??.

A couple of questions.

1)  What does your CLOCKxx member state?
2)  What is your hardware clock set at?
3)  Why IPL when you can use a SET CLOCK command?
