Start time, maxcc, etc. are not available to the external writer. For
that information, you need a IEFACTRT exit that saves fields from the
JMR across step boundaries, and a way to get the information into the
JES2 output dataset(s).
IEFSD095 is the block-character subroutine, but on the CBTTAPE site
you'll find a routine named EALSD095 that contains a more comprehensive
character set, including a number of special characters missing from
IEFSD095.
